Anuranjan Sethi is an Indian qualified lawyer with over 10 years of corporate experience in the areas of private equity advisory, and cross-border tax structuring transactions at law firms and global trust & fiduciary companies in India. Anuranjan completed his first degree in law from NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad (India) before pursuing his LL.M in Business Laws from UCLA School of Law.
Anuranjan while associated with two of the leading Indian law firms at their Bangalore offices, viz. Trilegal 7 Lexygen, where he advised several international private equity, venture capital funds, & hedge fund houses in negotiating & drafting term-sheets, shareholders’ agreement, share purchase agreement, software technology agreements. During this time, Anuranjan also led teams for due diligence exercise on & off the client premises from various industries including software technology, pharmaceutical, education, manufacturing units, fashion units, financial companies, among others.
Subsequently, while associated with two of the leading Dutch trust & fund administrator companies, viz. Amicorp & Citco, Anuranjan led business development efforts of their global business services for the North India operations. During this time, he developed close relationships with various law firms, business houses, tax advisors, & consultancy firms for providing international tax structuring solutions for their inbound & outbound investments. Particularly, at Citco, Anuranjan worked closely with his counterparts in Mauritius, the Netherlands, Singapore, Cyprus, and the US in establishing fund structures for the companies’ clients & also led teams for promoting business.
Anuranjan moved to academics in 2015 by joining Jindal Global Law School (JGLS), joining in his capacity of Assistant Dean (Career Development) & Assistant Professor. His teaching interest include, taxation law, professional ethics, & legal philosophy and offers several cross-discipline courses at other schools at JGU. Anuranjan’s research interest include Gandhian Philosophy, ideas of justice in India, moral philosophy, & spiritual philosophy of Eastern Cultures. Anuranjan is also interested in understanding the role of modern psychology in informing consumer rights in the backdrop of social media. In his role at CDPD, Anuranjan regularly counsels students on matters relating to their career, organizes skill development workshops, and develops industry-university interaction through various academic & non-academic channels.
Ethical & professional development of lawyers across various developing jurisdictions. Anuranjan is also interested in exploring eastern philosophies & spiritualities, and their possible linkages to the modern psychology.
