As an advocate, Gautam specializes in a range of commercial and dispute resolution matters. He has previously advised domestic and international clients in Commercial and Dispute Resolution matters; and has in his previous offices represented several clients in arbitrations and matters relating to supply and sale contracts. He has gathered invaluable experience & expertise, inter alia, in handling various types of Commercial Arbitrations as a Tribunal Secretary and drafting legal opinions for international institutions and international clients with Hon’ble Justice Deepak Verma, Former Judge of Supreme Court of India. He graduated from National Law University Odisha in the year 2015 and has a Master’s in International Business Law from Central European University in 2017. He also has a Diploma in Sports Law from Gujarat National Law University, Gandhi Nagar in 2018.


Gautam also has several publications to his name viz.,  “Separability of Arbitration Agreement in Mutual Termination of Contracts in India: A Legislative Guideline” in The Journal of International Arbitration (JOIA)(SCOPUS Indexed Journal), Volume 36, Issue 6, Pg.727-738., “The Debate of Seat Vs Venue in International Commercial Arbitration Proceedings: – Addressing the Bone of Contention” in International Commercial Law Review, Volume 1, Issue 1, having (ISSN No-2456-2475) and “Pre-Arbitral Steps in a Multi-Tier Dispute Resolution System in India- Analysing the current quagmire and the way forward” in the International Arbitration Law Review(IntAlr)(SCOPUS Indexed Journal), (forthcoming issue). He is currently co-authoring a book with Dr Sai Ramani Garimella & Dr Bruno Zeller titled “Enforcement of Foreign Arbitral Awards and the Public Policy Exception- Revisiting the New York Convention” (Springer Nature publications) which is scheduled to be published in August 2020.


Gautam is the co-founder of the Blog Arbitration Workshop which deals with the intricacies of the working of arbitral tribunals. His area of interests includes international commercial arbitration, international investment law, private international law, blockchain and the law.
