Prof. (Dr.) Lisa Thomas did her doctoral research on the representation of the transgendered and the intersexed bodies in twentieth and twenty first centuries American fiction. Her current research primarily focuses on gendered citizenship and the politics of visibility of transgendered people. She is also working on a monograph which is on the narratives of negative affect in trans poetry. Her preoccupations include trans and genderqueer poetry, postmodern fiction and eco- literature. Before joining JGU, she has taught world literatures, ecological studies and gender studies at educational institutions in Jharkhand and Bangalore.
