Shailza completed her B.A., LL.B (Hons.) from Jindal Global Law School in 2014 and worked with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Delhi for three years with their Projects and Infrastructure team.


She recently finished her Masters in International Politics from SOAS, University of London. She has presented a part of her research on women political prisoners at the Warwick Centre for Study of Women and Gender (University of Warwick). She is in the process of publishing her research on the writings of women political prisoners. Currently she is involved as a research assistant to a British Academy post-doctoral research fellow, Dr. Adrija Dey – assisting her on her project titled Gender Based Violence in Indian Universities: A Study of Campus Life, Student Activism, and Institutional Responses.


Shailza’s research and academic interests lie at the intersection of gender and women’s rights, legal theory, social movements, and contemporary Indian politics.
