Soumya has earned her Masters in Law in Intellectual Property and Policy Law from University of Washington School of Law, Seattle. She has extensive experience in Trademark Prosecution and Transactional work. Additionally she has worked on drafting regulations on the use of surveillance technology during her time at ACLU of Washington and managed the IP portfolio of Seattle Art Museum. She has experience in Social Media Management, using her IP background to ensure compliance in social media promotions of events using copyrighted works and trademarks. She has presented several research papers relating to women’s reproductive and marital rights in India, marital rape laws, and human rights issues. She has a keen interest in research relating to IP in Social Media, surveillance technologies and gender identity
