Arpan Banerjee is Assistant Professor, Assistant Dean and Executive Director of the Centre for Intellectual Property & Technology Law at Jindal Global Law School. Arpan's main areas of interest are IP law (focusing on copyright and trade mark law), media law and entertainment law. He has published and spoken widely, and received prestigious international fellowships and awards. Most recently, Arpan was awarded the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation German Chancellor’s Fellowship, spanning a 1.5-year period. He was hosted by Bucerius Law School, with research stays at the Oxford University IP Research Centre and King’s College. Arpan is an affiliated faculty member at the Centre for Intellectual Property Research at the Maurer School of Law, Indiana University Bloomington, a lecturer at the Bucerius-UC Hastings-WIPO Summer School in International IP Transactions, and an Associate Fellow at the University of Westminster Centre for Law, Society and Popular Culture. Prior to joining Jindal, Arpan taught at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur as an Assistant Professor (promoted to tenure-track). Before joining academia, Arpan practised as an IP lawyer. He worked on a broad range of contentious and non-contentious matters, advising clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to small enterprises.

British Academy (2018- 2020): Competitively awarded the British Academy Leverhulme Small Research Grant for conducting research on film classification laws in India and the UK (co-investigator with Professor Guy Osborn, University of Westminster).
