Ashrita Prasad Kotha is Assistant Professor and Assistant Director, Centre for Comparative and International Taxation at Jindal Global Law School. Her primary areas of research interest are domestic and international taxation law and policy. She has been working extensively on cess taxes and has presented her research at the Eighth History of Tax Law Conference in University of Cambridge, National Institute for Public Finance and Policy and Centre for Budget Governance and Accountability. During her time at Jindal she has taught undergraduate courses on Taxation Laws, Property Law, Law of Contracts and Alternate Dispute Resolution. She has been the faculty co-ordinator for the Jindal Oxford Summer School in 2015, 2016 and 2017. She convenes a Taxation Law Reading and Discussion Group every alternate term to discuss contemporary topics of taxation law and policy.
She has completed her BCL from University of Oxford as a KC Mahindra Scholar. Prior to her current position, Ashrita worked as a Teaching Assistant at her alma mater. Ashrita has also worked as an Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions practice of Luthra and Luthra Law Offices, New Delhi. During her stint at the law firm she assisted in a number of advisory matters and corporate transactions including business / asset transfers, share purchases and joint ventures ranging across different sectors.
