H.Uchenna Okoronkwo is a Nigeria and India trained legal academician. Called to Bar and admitted to practice law as Barrister & Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria (since November 2009 to date), he is an active Member of Nigerian Bar Association.
Mr. Uchenna is serving as Assistant Professor of Law (Public International Law) at Jindal Global Law School of O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat Delhi NCR. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B. Hons.) (Ebonyi State University); Barrister-at-Law (BL.) (Nigerian Law School); Master of Comparative Laws (M.C.L – Human Rights Law) (University of Delhi); Diploma United Nations & Int’l Understanding (Institute of UN Studies – Department of Indian Federation of United Nations Associations, Affiliated to World Federation of United Nations Associations, Geneva); Ph.D. (Awaiting Conferment) (Int’l & Comparative Laws majoring in Anti-Terrorism Laws & Human Rights Law) ( Faculty of Law - University of Delhi).
A product of good teaching, a highly motivated academic and conference speaker, his areas of research interest include: Anti-Terrorism Law, Public International Law, Criminology, Human Rights and Environmental Laws. Mr. Uchenna’s first book, published in Germany in 2017 centres on similar theme and ideas i.e. ‘Anti-Terrorism Laws’, the second edition to the book will soon be released in Nigeria. He has authored a number of articles. In 2016, he contributed in law text book published by Eastern Books Company in India. He actively attends and presents papers at both national and international conferences, which also includes Trinational Winter University (Germany, France & India) held in 2017. A recipient of several international scholarships, he was conferred with Graduate Scholar Award by Common Ground Publishing, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, United States of America, September 2013. In 2018, he was nominated to participate in the 38th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council held in Geneva, Switzerland.
Uchenna has a keen interest in politics, as he believes in bringing about a change through meticulous endeavours and ideas used to influence as well as shape people’s overall being. His courageous demonstration of that was in the year 2015, when he contested for national parliamentary position in the Nigerian National Assembly (House of Representatives). Though he was short of the wining votes cast, yet his revolutionary recommendations attracted many individuals. He is an Associate/Facilitator at African Initiative for Democracy & Human Rights, Durban South Africa since March 2011 to date.
Mr.Uchenna strongly supports educations as a means of transformation for any society. This has become the sole reason that has driven him to the field of education impartation as a facilitator. He fervently makes efforts to bring forth healthy teaching and co-learning environment for the holistic development of young learners.
